Photography notes:

Mazatlan is located in central Mexico on the Pacific side. It is a famous resort for fishing. These photos are taken on our vacation trip in February, 2001. I used Leica Minilux with Fuji Velvia slide film. I also brought Leica M6 with a few lens and took some black and white shots. But I think, in the end, the color works out better in capturing the mood of Mexican people.

I liked the Mazatlan old town (1-17), the colors of the building were really amazing. We stayed in a hotel in the Zona Dorada (golden zone). The bus to the old town Mazatlan took about 20 minutes and cost only 3 pesos (about 30 US cents). I went there by myself a couple of times just to walk on the old town streets. (18-22) is the Mazatlan Cathedral located in the old town, and I took the shots (23-30) on our tour to the Copola village and Concordia town. These two towns are about 2 hours away from Mazatlan and into central Mexico. I did not have a chance to stay longer in each town to really appreciated it.
